Re: Widi & Windows 8.1 problems

After a month of usage, wireless display became unstable and no longer works reliably for me. I use Lenovo laptop with dual graphics (Intel + Radeon), Broadcom wifi (so I have to use Windows 8.1 "Add a wireless display" feature) and Netgear PTV3000. My workarounds posted above help to connect but connection starts freezing after a few minutes (video slows down, then runs faster then it should (I guess to catch up), and then drops completely. Moreover, this problem now takes place if I use Galaxy Note with PTV3000, it's not so bad but framerate is unstable - video slows down and then rushes very fast to catch up, this happens quite often. So it looks like there are flaws all over the place - in Intel WiDi, in PTV3000 and even in Galaxy Note. Moreover, I tried using Miracast to share Galaxy Note's screen with the very latest and newest SONY BRAVIA 4K 55" TV panel, and guess what - it worked, but unreliably - sometimes won't connect, other times there is significat lag (about 1 second). HTC One could not connect to BRAVIA at all, despite the fact that is also supports Miracast and BRAVIA shows up in the list of Miracast devices on the phone. My take on this is that Miracast standard is not good enough at the moment. So whatever product you use with it, it will not work reliably long term.
